Welcome to Bay Area Family Child Care

The Provider Directory will enable parents to easily find family child care providers in the Bay Area,

and give providers the opportunity to promote their businesses. Whether a child spends just a few hours a week, or up to 10 hours a day in child care, the time he spends there, and the relationships formed between the caregiver and child, will influence his social, emotional and physical development throughout his childhood and into adulthood. Choosing the right child care program for their child is perhaps one of the most important decisions a parent can make for their child. But, parents often feel overwhelmed and frustrated when looking for child care. And it’s no wonder! There are so many options, all in varying degrees of quality, affordability and accessibility, a parent could easily spend months looking for the perfect provider.

It is our hope that this site will help make the process a little easier for parents, and give providers the opportunity to promote their businesses, as well as connect with parents and each other.

Why Family Child Care?

Family Child Care Providers are independent, self employed business people who have assumed one of society's most important responsibilities, that of caring for our youngest children. Young children thrive in a stable long term relationship with the same provider in the comfort of a home environment and in small groups where each child's needs can be best met. Family child care can allow parents flexibility in their work schedules such as early morning, night, or weekend care. Parents are able to work more productively when their children are safe and in good care.
